Solar Water Heater

Solar Water Heater

Water heater or water heater seems to have become the style of living in urban areas.

In addition to the indeed very comfortable bath water warm when the bodies tired after a long day of work, on particular condition is indeed needed for family members who are elderly or arthritic exposed or are allergic to cold.

Characteristics after a bath in the afternoon often sneezing as people exposed to flu symptoms. One solution ya bath water sharing the warm afternoon.

Traditionally to get hot water, enough with the cooking water with the stove.

Then the problem arises, long wait until hot water and the amount of hot water obtained is also limited. The more water is heated, the longer it is waiting and of course, more fuel is needed.

On the basis of this is the (time-quantity-energy-costs), the presence of water heater technology became an option.

Quite a lot of different brands of water heaters that are floating around in the market with a variety of features offered. However, according to our observations, not all problems have been solved by the above brands and types.

In other words, each brand and type has its advantages and drawbacks of each. For the moment we try to discuss first the type of solar water heater, Solar Water Heater.

Based on the workings of the system used, solar water heaters are divided into two types, namely:

1. solar water heating systems passive
2. solar water heating systems are active

1. Passive-Solar Water Heater: passive solar power water heater

As the name implies, this type of water heater utilizes sunlight as the energy to heat the water.
It is said this because the type of passive at all does not need other energy in the process of production of hot water. In other words, 100% rely on the energy of sunlight.

(Curious ... just keep reading it ...)

This type of water heater is composed of 2 main components, namely, storage tank and collector panels, connected by two pipes. On the cover there are a glass collector panels that function captures the heat of the Sun which is inside there is the arrangement of a series of copper pipe as waterways coated fin-fin heat sink (absorber).

While the tank is functioning like a thermos of hot water in order to accommodate the heat durable.

Thermosiphon system

How it works, as seen in the picture above, at the time when the Sun is shining, collector panels capture sunlight and heat flow of the mechanically-fin heat sink fins to the copper pipes that contain water, so the temperature of the water in it slowly increase.

Hotter water will move to the top of the storage tank and water entering cooler will drop enters the series of copper pipe for heating. Soon moving water itself until the entire water in the storage tank reaches the desired temperature.

When the temperature of the hot water in the storage tank is equal to the temperature of the hot water in the panel collector, by itself the water stopped flowing.

There are interesting here, i.e. between the water hotter and cooler air continues to circulate without outside help, such as a pump.

This could happen because the water is heated to expand and cause the density becomes lighter than the density of water cooler so water hotter will move to the top.

This is called the fundamental natural convection of water because of warming, and the system that refers to this principle are called Thermosiphon system.

Therefore solar water heating with Thermosiphon system is, installation is always on the roof of the House. In addition to getting sufficient sunlight, the slope of the roof is utilized to put storage tank position is higher than the panel collector.

Thermosiphon water heaters are fitted in the roof of the House

If the place of installation, the installation of this appliance should still be tilted positions with higher storage tank from the collector panel.

2. Active-Solar Water Heater solar water heaters: Active

Just as the solar water heating system, passive solar water heating systems are active still make use of solar energy for water heating of the process, only for distribution of hot water and cold water still require electricity to move the pump and the control processing.

Solar water heating system is active, designed for purposes of hot water on a large scale, such as hotels, hospitals, and apartments. Therefore this active system requires a more complex and supporting the capacity of the tank a much bigger shelter.

Special conditions/weather emergency, such as rain or overcast days, while the demand for hot water is thus increased, the system is equipped with water heaters energy electricity, gas or heat pump as emergency backup.

Thus, it may be useful, was attributed to the type of gas-fired water heater, Gas Water Heater. Thank you.
